Job Description

Oslin Nation Co. has a great opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Agent. The Purchasing Agent must be skilled in a variety of duties and able to wear multiple hats including purchasing, inventory control, freight coordination, product return process (RMA’s), working with large data sets in Excel, database management (SQL). This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is self-motivated and learns quickly while tackling various projects simultaneously. Successful candidates will have a strong background in purchasing, are well-organized, and are comfortable working with ambiguity and exercising judgement.

Job Details:

  • Oversee inventory control through company ERP system—P21, Epicor—requiring good understanding of inventory and purchasing methods: cycle counts, reorder points, multipliers, minimum order info, inventory transfers, etc.
  • Perform buyer duties for multiple office locations while maintaining consistent processes—creating purchase orders for stock or customer orders
  • Accurately update database with product price, description, supplier part numbers, or other changes—large data sets from suppliers
  • High level of technical product knowledge required—this individual will need to spend substantial time learning and gaining understanding of offered product lines
  • Strong aptitude for learning new and evolving software systems including changes to vendor purchasing portals
  • Understanding of purchasing impact from a financial and accounting perspective to ensure alignment with company objectives
  • Coordination with suppliers to correct shipments errors—shortages, overages product damage

Requirements:

  • Experience in purchasing working in one or more of the specialties mentioned, 2-5 years
  • Strong proficiency with ERP Software (Ideally Epicor “Prophet21”) preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to use complex formulas with large data sets
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal and written—with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to function effectively in a small team with high standards of accuracy and performance
  • Previous distribution experience, 2-5 years
  • Working understanding of SQL helpful

Hours: M-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
