The Lochinvar CREST Boiler has Hellcat Combustion Technology and RealTimeO2 trim, which results in a targeted combustion O2 thanks to its reliable combustion system. There is also a trim so that the user can add their preferred O2 setting.
Direct Vent & Enhanced Controls
The CREST boiler has a 150 foot direct vent and now features a 10” touchscreen for easier usability and better visibility. The touchscreen also has updates and enhancements to protocol.
New Look & Turndown Increase
This Lochinvar boiler has smaller front doors and strong but light side panels. This makes it easier to fit in small spaces and is more compact for moving panels.
Some models (FCB4000 – FCB6000) have 20:1 turndown.
Features
The CREST Condensing Boiler has Lochinvar’s SMART TOUCH control, which modifies based on changes in temperature. There is also the O2 sensor system that is designed specifically for a condensed boiler.
Features of the Hellcat Combustion Technology
The Hellcat combustion technology features both an air filter box and an air damper, a boiler control panel, a comfort control panel, and an O2 sensor (exclusive to Lochinvar) and gas damper.
The air filter keeps particles from getting into the burner, while the damper provides air supply control. The gas damper, meanwhile, provides specific control to the fuel supply separately from the air supply. The boiler control panel has the O2 sensor board, the combustion feedback board, and the boiler control board, and the comfort control panel has terminal blocks that are pluggable and the BACnet integrated circuitry.
Integrated Controls Platform
The Lochinvar CREST boiler has five boards on its control platform:
- Boiler Control Board
- Combustion Feedback Board
- Comfort Control Board (with low feedback connections)
- O2 Sensor Board
- Pump Board
The boards have fault indicators and LED status that will help with diagnoses. There have been other changes made to the Lochinvar CREST boiler, which include: a single boiler control taking safety measures.
The control boards are interchangeable, so the universal board can be used in case of replacement.
New Features
There are new features included with the boiler control board, which includes:
- Air filter switch input
- Blocking report (identifies the most recent blocking code and when it happened)
- LED Indicator lights to help with troubleshooting
- Lockouts that now log the burner state (an example is if lockout occurs during flame stabilization)
- Recycling Report (helps in situations where recycling happens but lockout doesn’t)
- Two gas pressure switch inputs (can now tell which switch has locked out)

The boiler features six different venting options, which controls direct-vent air intake and more. Multiple units can be common-vented.
